This piece is a little different from a traditional sheepskin rug.
We’ve combined soft, fluffy long wool with dense short wool sheepskins to create a rug with beautiful contrast in texture. The different wool lengths give it depth and movement, while the free-flowing organic shape keeps the overall look natural and relaxed.
Each rug is made individually here in New Zealand.
We lay the sheepskins out by hand and move the pieces around until the shape and balance feel right. Once we’re happy with the design, each section is carefully formed and stitched together piece by piece.
There is no fixed pattern and these rugs are not mass produced. Because every sheepskin has its own shape, wool length, colour and texture, no two finished rugs will ever look exactly the same.
That’s part of what makes each one special.
The rug is finished with a soft suede cow leather backing, covering the stitching underneath and giving the piece a clean, beautifully finished feel from front to back.
It works beautifully in a bedroom, lounge, reading area or anywhere you’d like to add warmth, softness and a little more character to the room.

As sheepskin is a natural material, you may notice small variations in colour, curl, wool length, direction and texture throughout the rug. These are natural characteristics of genuine sheepskin and are part of the individuality of each piece.
We can also create a custom rug in a different size or overall shape.
